Day 1 Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. You are greeted by your guide at the airport and transferred to the hotel. The rest time is free at your own leisure.


Day 2 Beijing

Day tour starts from the Forbidden City, in scripted as a UNESCO world cultural heritage site in 1987. It is the largest palace of the world complex covering 74 hectares. It has 9999 halls and rooms in which emperors lived for over 500 hundred years in Ming and Qing dynasties. And then we will take a leisure walk around Tian An Men Square to admire the grandeur of the largest public squares in the world. In the afternoon, we will take rickshaws through Beijing's Hutong, experiencing the lifestyle of the Beijing locals. You will have an opportunity to make a paper cut. The Chinese paper cut is a national handicraft with profound cultural connotations. It is an opportunity to make a traditional Chinese handicraft in the Hutong area. It is easy to learn and only requires a pair of scissors and paper, but a good paper cut requires a great deal of skill in cutting and paper selection. The teacher will share the basic skills of this craft. You can ask your teacher, if you want to take home the fruit of your labor.


Day 3 Beijing - Xi’an

After breakfast, we will visit Temple of Heaven, where emperors performed annual rituals of sacrifice to ensure prosperity for future generations. And then we will visit Green Olympic. We will explore the park, but it doesn't include going inside the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. In the afternoon, we will do a short hike on the Great Wall, one of the eight ancient wonders of between 6000- 6500km long built over several centuries to keep out the invading northern tribes. After dinner, we will take overnight train to Xi’an.


Day 4 Xi’an

Arrive in Xi’an in the early morning. Upon arrival, we will visit Terracotta Warriors. It is the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. It was listed by UNESCO in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages. The museum covers an area of 16,300 square meters, divided into three sections: No. 1 Pit, No. 2 Pit, and No. 3 Pit respectively. In the afternoon, we will cycle on Ancient City Wall. It's the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. And then we will walk around at Muslim Square.


Day 5 Xi’an - Chengdu

Today we will pay a visit to Shaanxi Provincial History Museum. The museum's permanent exhibition primarily displays Shaanxi's ancient history. The collection from the Han through the Tang (618 A.D.-907 A.D.) and Song (960 A.D.-1279 A.D.) dynasties shows the changes of art and craftsmanship. After lunch, you will take a flight to Chengdu. This dinner you will enjoy Chengdu snacks.


Day 6 Chengdu - Ya’an

In the morning, we will drive to Ya’an Panda Garden. And transact panda volunteer documents and meet your panda keepers. The rest time we will visit panda gardens.


Day 7-8 Panda Volunteer Work

These two whole days, you will follow the panda keepers cleaning the cages, preparing meals for pandas, feed them and learn knowledge of pandas from the keepers.


Day 8 Ya’an - Chengdu

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to these lovely babies. And you will get a volunteer certificate. When we back to Chengdu, you will be at your own leisure wander in Jinli Street. After we watch Sichuan Opera including face changing show, we will drive back to your hotel.


Day 9 Chengdu - Guilin

Today you will take flight to Guilin. In the afternoon, you will visit Diecai Hill. The Cloud-Catching Pavilion, which is on the Bright Moon Peak, where you could have a best position to admire the picturesque Li River, as well as the magnificent city of Guilin in its entirety.


Day 10 Guilin - Yangshuo

Hiking along the Li River gives a great opportunity see the gorgeous Li River scenery close-up and the life of the farmers who live by the river. After a one hour drive from Guilin, you will arrive at Yangdi which is the starting point. The hike from Yangdi to Xingping is about 20 km and it takes about 5 hours at a medium pace. You will pass small villages; see rice fields, orchards and unique karst mountains. You will need to cross the river three times in a ferry boat during the hike. Our driver will pick you up at Xingping and then drive the 40 minutes to Yangshuo. Please bring some snacks for lunch since there is no restaurant along the way.


Day 11 Yangshuo

Today you will ride on a cycle to have a village visit. And then you will take a bamboo rafting on Yulonghe River from Chaoyang to Gongnong Qiao. You will find this is a fairyland to get rid of the pressure in modern city life, sightseeing in the Chinese countryside amongst the magnificent scenery of the kartz mountain and rice fields.


Day 12 Yangshuo - Shanghai

After breakfast, you will drive back to Guilin and take flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, we will take a leisure stroll in the fabulous Yu Garden at the Old Quarter.


Day 13 Shanghai

After breakfast we will visit Shanghai Museum, mainly the exhibitions of painting, bronze, sculpture, ceramics, calligraphy, jade, Ming & Qing Dynasty furniture, coins, seals, and ethnic artwork. And then we will visit the Bund. Once the home of the foreign traders and major banks, the embankment has taken on a new vitality; lovely old European-style buildings mix with futuristic developments, chic restaurants, top end shops and bars offer plenty to see and do. This evening we will watch China Acrobatic Show.


Day 14 Departure

Your 14 Days Panda Volunteer Work and Yangshuo Tour is near the end. You will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
