China does not only have Great Wall. Besides Beijing, there is a beautiful province named Yunnan, which is known as a province under the colourful clouds of southwestern China. Discover Yunnan Shangri-la Tour takes you explore Great Wall in Beijing, Stone Forest in Kunming, peaceful villages in Dali, ancient town in Lijiang and mysterious Tibetan monastery in Shangri-la.



Day 1__Beijing

Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. You are greeted by your guide at the airport and transferred to the hotel. After a short break in the hotel, you will take rickshaws through Beijing's Hutong, experiencing the lifestyle of the Beijing locals.




Day 2__Beijing Great Wall Tour

This morning you will visit Great Wall. After a hike along a portion of the Wall, we visit the Ming Tombs.

Great Wall: one of the eight ancient wonders of between 6000 to 6500km long built over several centuries to keep out the invading northern tribes.

Ming Tombs: are final resting place for 13 of the 16 Ming emperors. The imperial graveyard can unsurprisingly by a rather dormant spectacle tomb architecture, Confucian symbolism or Ming imperial genealogy.  


Day 3__Beijing to Kunming

In the morning we will visit Tiananmen Square, then pay a visit to the Forbidden City. After that you will fly to the Spring City, Kunming. Upon arrival, your guide will transfer you to the hotel.

Tiananmen Square: the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historic events taking place here.

Forbidden City: one of the five most famous palaces in the world where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. The grand palaces and courtyards, the unique design as well as the valuable collections attract millions of people to admire.

Kunming: is called the Spring city due to its weather. Located in the middle of the Yunnan - Guizhou Plateau, Kunming is located at an altitude of 1,900 metres (6,234 feet) above sea level and at a latitude just north of the Tropic of Cancer.




Day 4__Kunming City Tour

Kunming City Tour include Stone Forest and Bamboo Temple.

The Stone Forest: is a fantastic natural phenomena. Surely we won’t miss it. The various shapes of karst landscape was formed due to the millions years movement of Earth. The Stone Forest area is the home of the Sani people, their folk customs has become one spectacular scene, the colorful embroidery and minority dances combine with the natural sceneries, which will surely leave you a deep impression.

Bamboo Temple: is a Tang Dynasty Temple known for its Arhat statues. This is cool to count the arhats one by one to the right until you reach your age, which is the one that best details your inner self.


Day 5__Kunming to Dali

After breakfast, we will drive to Dali. Upon arrival, we will take cruise on the Erhai Lake. And we will pay a visit to Xi Zhou Bai People’s Village.

Xizhou Bai People’s Village: Dali is one of the cradles of National capitalism of Bai people, and a famous hometown to overseas Chinese in Yunnan. So, you have to understand Xizhou first if you really want to understand Dali and Bai people. Some buildings are old and typical anceint architectures, which are the real local house. On the outside walls of each house, there are numerous exquisite paintings showing the art atmosphere.

Erhai Lake: dominates the local psyche. The seventh-biggest freshwater lake in China, it sits at 1973m above sea level and covers 25 square kilometers.




Day 6__Dali to Lijiang

Drive to Lijiang in the morning. After check in the hotel in Lijiang, we will visit the Black Dragon Pool and Lijiang Ancient Town.

Black Dragon Pool: is a famous pond in the scenic Jade Spring Park (Yu Quan Gong Yuan) located at the foot of Elephant Hill, a short walk north of the Old Town of Lijiang in Yunnan province, China. It was built in 1737 during the Qing dynasty and offers a spectacular view of the region's tallest mountain, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, over its white marble bridge.

Lijiang Ancient Town: which is perfectly adapted to the uneven topography of this key commercial and strategic site, has retained a historic townscape of high quality and authenticity. Its architecture is noteworthy for the blending of elements from several cultures that have come together over many centuries. Lijiang also possesses an ancient water-supply system of great complexity and ingenuity that still functions effectively today.


Day 7__Around Lijiang Tour

Today you will visit Baisha village and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Baisha village: is one of the Naxi Minority villages in Lijiang and is more special because of the collection of murals in the village. After break, we will visit this village. Painted over a thousand years ago, they combine the cultures of Han, Tibetan and Naxi people displaying the life stories of the Tibet Buddhism, Confucian and Taoism.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: is the southernmost glacier in the Northern Hemisphere. Consisting of 13 peaks, among which Shanzidou is the highest with an altitude of 5,600 meters, the mountain stretches a length of 35 kilometers and a width of 20 kilometers. Looking from Lijiang Old Town in the south which is 15 kilometers away, the snow-covered and fog-enlaced mountain resembles a jade dragon lying in the clouds.


Day 8__Lijiang to Shangri-la

Today we will visit Tiger Leaping Gorge. After that we will drive to Shangti-la.

Tiger Leaping Gorge: as one of the deepest and most marvelous gorges, it is located in Hutiaoxia Town, 105 kilometers away from Shangri-La County.




Day 9__Shangri-la to Lijiang

In the morning, we will visit Songzanlin Monastery (Ganden Sumtseling Gompa). And then we will visit the Bitahai Lake and Shudu Lake.

Songzanlin Monastery (Ganden Sumtseling Gompa): which is the largest Tibetan Buddhist lamasery in Yunnan Province. Occupying an area of 33.3 hectares, Songzanlin was built in the style of Potala Palace in Lhasa and represents the Tibetan culture, the statue of Buddhists and many precious cultural treasures will leave you with unforgettable memory.

Bitahai Lake and Shudu Lake: are is surrounded by mountains covered with ancient pines, oaks and rhododendrons, just like an emerald in the heart of the mountain. Shudu Lake is located in northeast of Shangri-la, it is one of the largest fresh water lakes on the Diqing plateau. The lake is surrounded by a forest of fir, spruce and silver birch, and is home to lots of wild animals such as bears, golden cats, deer and pheasants.


Day 10__Departure

Your Discover Yunnan Shangri-la Tour is near the end. You will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
